Set in the quintessential English landscape of the Lake District, queer Black couple Mel and Sasha go on a weekend away for the last time before their first child arrives. Little do they know, lurking in the waters lies creatures from colonial past coming back to haunt them.

Working in an historic Art Deco cinema, Maybe Moonbeam finds an old film reel with her name on it. Maybe cranks up the projector to watch the lead character, Mabel, living a life a 100 years ago that disconcertingly mirrors her own. Maybe Moonbeam uses film and digital techniques to pay homage to the silent movie pioneers of the 1920s with an original score by Ryna Lau. A black and white short silent film, shot on location in Hackney, London.
